Halloween Countdown - Day 26 & 27

Missed an update yesterday so if you've been following you know the drill. Double shot Tuesday.

Over the past few nights I've been knocking out a few horror movies that I've never seen before. One of these would include the cult Evil Dead series directed by Spiderman Sam Raimi.

I caught the first installment and had trouble getting all the excitement about these movies. The premise was pretty standard as five college students end up in a creepy shack in the woods and by mistake end up waking up the demon spirits of an Indian burial ground.

The "acting" was bad, the effects were gory but pretty random as well. I will take my cousin's advice and watch the next one. This is where he says that things take off and more of the humor come out as well as the superb talent of Bruce Campbell.



The last film I have waiting in the stack before a return to Blockbuster is Saw. Yes, I haven't seen it. This franchise is now on its sixth installment and its not like horror movies ever knew when to stop. Much like the psychos that star in these epics they hack away to squeeze the last ounce of money from its fans.
